Stack leather wrap or leather wrap?

Is there much of a differance if any, between the feel of a stack leather wrap and a one piece leather wrap?

Yes, definitely. A stack wrap has a hard smooth, polished finish similar to a wrapless cue, and a leather wrap feels like leather. In my opinion, they are two completely different things. I prefer stack by a long shot, but some people don't.

Chris, do you find think that the stack leather wrap will not not be conducive for sweaty palms?

Once the wrap is worn in a littlle after a few weeks, it will absorb normal sweat with no problem, but if someone has really sweaty hands, it's probably not too good. Too much moisture causes the edges of the wrap to lift a little.

Stack leather is a feel preference. I prefer the feel over my second choice, which is smooth leather, and over my third choice, which is wrapless. Since becoming used to a smooth wrap, I no longer like the feeling of any texture at all in my grip hand.

Cork?

I have not played with a cork wrapped cue, but have handled one before, and from what I have read on here, cork sounds like the way to go for excessively sweaty hands. You could also try an old skiing trick used to keep your feet dry, spray your hands with anti-perspirant. It works wonders on keeping your feet dry after getting trapped in a ski boot all day, it should do the same for your hands. Never let 'em see you sweat!

Yes, cork is awesome. I just did one this week. I'll try to post some pics.

Nice job!

that cork wrap looks sweet. thanks for giving me one more thing to think about.

how much do you charge for cork? I should be getting myself a josey within the next few months and I'm getting it wrapless since it would save me like $50 off the price... so how much for a cork wrap and cutting the channel?

I got a stack leather wrap on my Gilbert, wish I hadn't frankly. It feels fine, but nothing special. However, it doesn't look as good as a regular leather wrap. I had Tiger do it so it isn't a poor installation, the ends just look a little sloppy and I don't think that can be avoided. I got it because I liked the idea of varigrated colors, but as I said I was disappointed with it. I will ultimately replace it with leather.
