Stacked leather question

Thinking about getting a new wrap on my cue. I would like the stacked leather or something similar. But can a coating be put over it so that I won't feel the leather? Also, what is the average turn around time and price? Thanks for any info...

Not too sure how good or even practical a coating would be. The SLW has a feel right in between a leather wrap and a wrapless cue. To me, it's more like a wrapless cue, but seems to have a warmer feel/grip.

There are many who do this wrap including myself. I've done almost 150 of them. If I can be of service, please PM me for pricing. Turn around time is 3 days from the time I get it with free shipping. Shorter if you pay the difference for overnight shipping

No you cannot put a coating over the stack wrap. The wrap has beeswax as one of the sealers and no finish would stick to it. You can burnish it to a super smooth finish that may help.

The lacquering kinda defeats much of the purpose in using a leather wrap. If you want it to be lacquered over, you are better off with linen or just a wrapless cue IMO.

You can seal over it with most any cue finish if you have not waxed it. As Corey mentioned it defeats the purpose of giving that special Stack feel. If you like the look of it and want to have a smooth surface that does not quite feel like it has been coated over with cue finish. Try several coats of my shaft sealer on it. Use no Wax! Many people installing Stack wraps are using this method as the happy medium. No worrying about chipping. Just add more later if it wears through.

What are you using for shaft sealer? I do not see a description on your site.

Secret formula.

I understand. I've tried my shaft sealer on the stack wrap before I apply the beeswax and it seems to work a little better for me.

I don't like them too slick and shiney though. I leave them with sort of a matte finish.
