Last saturday I played 1-pocket with a guy for 10 straight hours and even went to breakfast right after. Everytime I play this guy we average 8 to 10 hours. Within the last 6 months we have played a total of around 14 times all maraton matches. He has never beat me but we have broken even on several occations. The match up last saturday was my biggest score yet of just under $1000. Most of the time he quites once he gets down $400. We figured he has lost a total of around $5000 to me within the last 6 months. The best part is he calls me to play, usually every 2 to 3 weeks.
We played even until he was down around $3000 now I have to spot him 9/7. Even with that spot I still like it. He does play good 1-pocket but he like to take flyers at the wrong time. One rack I even broke and ran 8 and hung my ninth ball in the pocket. That was only the thrid time I have even broke and ran 8 let alone 8 1/2.
One thing that I have found helped me a lot was to loose almost 20lbs. When we first started playing my weight was around 215. My weight now is almost 190, and my goal is 185. during this time I have not worked out, just kept my intake between 1500 and 2000 calories a day. I work night shift right now which helps a lot. Not too many fast food places open at 4:00am.
