Stance Advice for Very Tall Player

hi there, you might appreciate this vid- bob discusses stance, amongst other items:
I don't recommend this solution. Leaning forward like he does can cause chronic shoulder pain in the player's bridge arm over time. It also puts pressure on the front leg and knee. I would consider this position to be an off-balance stance with the weight distribution leaning too far forward. The player is already bending forward at the table. Why add more to it?

So I got a little more footage last night from the pool hall.

Something I noticed is how much my cue rises on my backswing.

I've recorded myself many times and this is something I have never payed attention to.
It seems that I'm raising my shoulder as I extend my elbow, I also wonder if I possibly need to loosen my grip more on the backstroke as well.

As far as a more forward stance my knees weren't hurting from it, I did feel like my head still wasn't far enough to the right of the cue.

Also these photos are at cue ball address and at the end of backstroke.

This is a GREAT stance. Well done! As for your upper arm movement, that's a good catch. Mainly, what happens in the forward motion is more important, but changing the angle of attack during your stroke isn't such a good idea, even if it stays constant through your forward motion. Try to think of your arm as a hinge below your elbow as you move it back. Right now you're moving your entire shoulder during your backstroke.

This is something that is absolutely standard on a pendulum swing where your upper arm doesn't move. You have a very long backswing. Your hand has to rise a lot unless you drop your upper arm on the backswing and then raise on the forward swing. One issue with that is that you have more chance to come offline either going back or coming forward. You could try shortening your bridge which will reduce the possible swing. A shorter bridge will also reduce the required length of cue stick.
 
Hello, I'm seeking more advice on my stance/alignment.
I made a post in the Main Forum and was advised to post here as well.

I'm 6 foot 8 and use a 6" extension full time
The longer I'm down on the shot the more uncomfortable I become.

Sometimes my grip hand clips my right leg on the way back. I have played with a wider stance more recently with a straighter back leg but I end up putting more weight on my left leg and my knee feels it.

When I try a more open stance it seems that I put more weight on my right leg which results in the same thing.

I've also tried shifting my waist/hips out away from the cue for more clearance which also starts to jack my lower back up.

Any input is very greatly appreciated thank you.
I’m 6’3” and have tried a lot of things to compensate for my height. One thing that works for me is to get my head and eyes closer to the cue ball And not hang back. It helps with aim, shot making and position. I actually have a ‘softer‘ shot. I wish I could demonstrate what I am trying to describe.

I noticed that your long arms as well as your height puts you at a disadvantage as it does me. You might just relax your left arm and not extend it so far and move your chin over the table more closer to the cue ball so the cue ball looks bigger in your eye. It gives you a different perspective of the shot. Just try experimenting with those two points.
