Hello,
I'm looking for recommendation on Standard-deflection (non-LD) shafts, for 5/16 x 14 Piloted Joint (Jacoby).
I do not like the standard shaft that came with my Jacoby cue, I think it's the taper and thickness (13mm). I have shot for years with a McDermott which has a certain (I believe pro) taper, 12.25mm, and am looking to replicate that as much as possible on the Jacoby. For some reason 12.25mm feels perfect to me, even 12.75 feels too thick in my hands.
I have tried several LD shafts (Edge Hybrid, 314, Z2), and I have come to the conclusion that I will never adjust properly to any of them due to years of playing with SD shafts.
I did put a Schon shaft on the Jacoby and it is a step in the right direction - the tip is a bit hard (I am used to shooting with a medium tip on the McDermott) so if I don't find a better alternative, I may just change the tip on the Schon shaft and see how that works.
