quick question for you professionals. I have a nice bostich staple gun that can shoot just about any size staple. It has a 1/2" crown. what length staple do you folks shoot? 1/2, 3/8, 1/4 I really could not think of a reason that would make a difference in the install of the cloth but the removal might go easier with a shorter staple.

thank you,
allen

I use 1/4 inch if the backing is good.

1/4" leg for cloth. Use 3/8" through leather pocket tabs, or if your staple block in the rails is chewed out enough it won't take 1/4".

staple

I use 5/16 or 1/4 leg with a 1/2 crown for cloth.. I always used duo fast staples, the important thing about staple guns is that you modify it so your not sinking the staple into the wood and cutting the cloth at the same time thus chewing up the wood and making for a pain to remove staples next time..if there is not a 1/16 cloth relief on the bottom side of the rail I suggest you make one....this might sound silly'> please* always remember to wear eye protection!
