We are starting up our local league at Marietta billiard club in Marietta,ga this Sunday with 11 players. the highest handicapper is a race to 180 while the lowest is 85 balls. the schedule and place to play is fluid, just do your match before the next sunday and play where it is convenient for you both. it just can't get any better that that! life is temporarily good!

Hey I wonder who you play first? :)

BTW - we take 20% off your handicap, and that is what we play to. Helps to speed the play a bit. So me as a 130 plays to 104.

Looking forward to Sunday!

Can I still sign up? Can't do Sundays but looks like matches can be flexible and accommodating.

I really like your format.
The guys get together when they are able within the week, Play at their own pace, Any place they want, No pressure. No late nights...
And next sunday get your next matchup.
I don't think you could have set it up any better.
all the best...

Could be an interesting way to get another internet tournament going.
Get signed up, matched up, and post it up.
and do it again next week.

It is a fun league. Hard to get 14.1 players here though. Would love to have more players. You do get a schedule at the beginning of the season - it's a double round robin with everyone playing each other twice. So with 10 people we go 18 weeks.

While you can play anywhere anytime, most play on Sunday's when you can at MBC. We get a great table time deal. Each player pays 10 bucks, and $8 goes to the pot, with just two to the club. And if you eat, you don't' even pay the $2, the time is comped.

Also last season, in an effort to incent more people to improve offensive skills, we put most of the money to a high run fund and then pay off the top 3-4 places at end of season. Everyone gets something for their personal high run and it is weighted. So to keep the math simple, a 70 handicap's run of 15 would pay the same amount as a 140's run of 30.

So far, everyone likes the format, and it allows lower handicaps a shot at some decent dough for their high run. We really want to try and grow the league and not have people frustrated with no chance to win some cash.

Absolutely. There is many of us with 8-5 careers who still love to play. Can't do the 1-2am thing anymore. Just wished it was closer to me

It's a fun league. I'm glad to hear that you all are keeping it going. I enjoyed playing in that league for multiple seasons.
