Here are some results from the Jayson Shaw vs. Shane Van Boening 9-Ball match played at The Rockin' Cue in Harlingen, Texas on October 17-19, 2022. Pay-per-view live streaming was provided by Omega Billiards. The main commentators were Josh Roberts and Billy Thorpe.

This match was a race to 120 game wins played over 3 days, stopping each day when the leader reached multiples of 40. Shaw won the match, outscoring Van Boening each day. The scoring for each day (Shaw's score first):

The "official" score, as reported by Omega Billiards:
Day 1 -- 40 - 21
Day 2 -- 40 - 35 (2-day total 80 - 56)
Day 3 -- 40 - 24
Total -- 120 - 80

What I believe to be the accurate score (explanation below):
Day 1 -- 39 - 21
Day 2 -- 40 - 35 (2-day total 79 - 56)
Day 3 -- 39 - 25
Total -- 118 - 81

Explanation of scoring errors:
• On Day 1 after 57 games, with the score accurately posted at 36-21 in Shaw's favor, the score was changed to 37-21 just before the 9-ball was pocketed in Game 58 and then to 38-21 after the 9-ball was pocketed by Shaw. I believe this was a scoring error, crediting Shaw with an extra game. So whereas the official match score was 120-80, a total of 200 games, only 199 games were actually played in the match.
• On Day 3, with the posted score at 107-72 in Shaw's favor, Van Boening won the next game. But the credit for that win was mistakenly given to Shaw rather than Van Boening, making the posted score 108-72 instead of 107-73.
So I believe that Shaw was credited with 2 games he did not win (one of which was not even played) and Van Boening was not credited with 1 game that he did win. The actual score for the 199 games played in the match was, therefore, 118-81.

The stats in this thread are for 198 games instead of the total of 199 that I believe were played, because the stream was down for me on Day 2 for one full game and part of another. Shaw was running out with just a few open balls left in the partially streamed game, so I included that in the stats; but the game not streamed at all (which Shaw won) is excluded.

Conditions -- The conditions for this event included:
- Diamond 9-foot table with 4½" corner pockets;
- Simonis blue cloth;
- what looked to me like Super Aramith Pro balls, with a red-spots cue ball;
- Accu-Rack racking template;
- rack your own, with the 9-ball on the foot spot;
The required procedure for racking was to pull the balls out of the collection box (at random) just 2 at a time and place them in the rack from the top to the bottom (putting the 1-ball and 9-ball in their normal places, of course). Also, it was loss of game if a player was caught leaving a gap in the racked balls (it was not clearly stated exactly how this would work; fortunately, it never happened).
- winner breaks from behind the head string in a box approximately 8" to each side of the long string;
- no 3-point (illegal-break) rule, but soft breaking not allowed;
- no shot clock;
- foul on all balls;
- 3-foul rule in effect (did not occur);
- jump cues allowed;
- all slop counts;
- lag for opening break on Day 1 (won by Van Boening).

This is pretty wild. Van Boening outbroke Shaw and had a similar B&R percentage but still got whooped.
