after a couple of safeties ronnie goes on a tear and runs a 147
starts around 1: 20 minute
i thought showing the tip positions pretty cool ...i hope you do too...
yes its snooker but the smaller tip size is proportionate to the smaller balls so excessive spin could still be used

hi bbb, thanks for the post- cool vid, but how does man know where the cue tips go?
He's psychic. ;) Seriously, i think just by the cueball movement you could pretty accurately deduce what spin(or lack of) the Rocket is using. Still amazing to watch Ronnie's style. Just a great rhythm-n-flow to his game.

so you'd say the tip stuff is an educated guess?

position-wise, it doesn't look like ronnie ever got too out of line, and often had a nice angle, so staying vertical is certainly believable- I was just curious if the guy who made the video used any other info./tools aside from what's provided.

agree that ronnie's got a great rhythm, and is a joy to watch!

Unless he was standing directly behind him on every shot how else could he have done this? Asked Ronnie "Hey Rocket, take me thru that run shot-by-shot and tell me what spin you used"? ;) I think he just went by how the ball reacted.

I like the image of CB showing tip position, but could do without the annoying image of the shaft going back and forth!

Are you saying the smaller ball won't squirt a crazy amount because the smaller tip will squirt less? That's probably more true than you think - a 10mm snooker tip has about 1/3 less end mass than a 12.7mm pool tip, while a 2 1/8" snooker ball has only about 1/7 less mass than a 2 1/4" pool ball. So if I'm thinking about this correctly we should expect quite a bit less squirt in snooker.
