Hello,

Going to look at a used steel city 14" bandsaw with the granite top and
lower drive wheel.

Does anyone have any experience or advice on this saw? What would be a
fair price if it is in good shape?

I do not have any pictures and have not looked at this saw yet.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
 
there are better options Randy, keep an eye out in Craigslist. older Deltas, Jet, Powermatic from 150 to 400

I check CL pretty often and if you are patient
there are some great deals to be had.

Anyway, I looked at the saw yesterday and it looked in great shape,
the guy wanted it gone and let it go for $200 with a couple
of blades still in the box, I hope I do not regret buying it but
at this price I am not out that much.
 
I like that 4" dust port on it and am curious to see how that granite lower wheel works out. It looks like the one you posted up is even better than the $700 saw KJ found on Amazon; yours has a bigger motor, granite lower wheel, more weight and a built-in mobile base . That rack and pinion blade guide assembly with 12" resaw is going to be sweet, too.
I'm with KJ- you stole it! Please let us know how you like it once you get it tuned up.
 
I had to go re-read the specs - a granite wheel? I'd never heard of such a thing. I knew about the granite tops - Ridgid did that with their R4511 table saw.
It will be interesting to hear what you think about that setup!
