Steepleton Hurstbourne or GC3

I have a pro 8 Steepleton Hurstbourne that I need to redo rails and cloth on. Will come to about $1300-$1400 for the job. I'm looking at a 9' 1984 GC3 that will likely need rails and cloth as well. They are asking $1500 for the GC3 and it's 5 hours away. Trying to decide which is the better deal.

Any advice welcome!

They are still in business but they appear to be trading in family rec type of stuff. This table I think was made in the late 90s.

Invest in the Gold Crown. You will never get the money out of your current table. You would be putting in about double what the table is worth.

Not even a choice really, the GC is an investment, it will outlive you and because it is a commercial table they are sturdy and heavy.

Gold crown. I bought my GCI for $600 and put about $1000 into it including cloth and paint. I shot it with automotive primer and metallic charcoal gray and metallic dark copper. The paint has held up perfectly. There are some scratches in the clear coat, but I could easily buff them out, and probably will in the next several months when I replace the cloth.
