OK i have had cues that were built for me by some of the best, I no longer have them but I do have a cue Steve built me, it is actually the only cue that I presently own. The cue is NOT the fanciest cue I have owned but it is a couple of steps above plain and is nice but not intimidating. I can take it in any pool hall and not be un proud of it but it wont gather a crowd by appearance. How ever the cue PLAYS this is the only cue of Steve's I am familiar with but if this cue is any indication of Steve's cues I recommend it HIGHLY!

This is not just my opinion just last week after our weekly league I grabbed my case thinking I had broke down the cue but i had forgot to put my cue in it. A team mate garbed my cue and texted me that he had it, I arranged to meet him a few days later when he was playing darts to get my cue. The next weekend as we were playing poker he made a statement to me that he had played some balls with the cue and was impressed with the hit and play-ability of the cue. He has played with a Searing, a Southwest, a Hercek and a Gina that I have had and this is the ONLY one of the cues that he has mentioned the hit and play of. He is also not an average player. Granted the shaft is one of Steve low deflection shafts but if this cue is any indication of Steve's cues and how they play you can not go WRONG!!!

I can say that Steve was a complete gentleman when discussing this cue and listened to me and offered his thoughts on the discussion of the cue. I will also state that we did not always agree but I will admit that I did give his opinion merit and as such this is the only cue I have ever had that has a G10 pin. I must say that the cue took a bit longer to get in hand than I wished but Steve was updating his equipment and as such he felt guilty and did me right as i had requested a mother of pearl cue and he did it in Ivory for the price.

I will also say that this cue isn't perfect the only flaw i can find is in the points , they aren't perfect but they are so close that unless you are examining them with a critical eye you won't notice it.The wrap is leather and Perfect the inlays are Perfect and the small imperfection in this cue is incontestable to the way it plays.

Granted this cue probably won't be a collector and make me any $$$ to the name of the cue but it all ready has made me $$$$ as to playing it. Mike Bender is a friend of mine I have had 3 of his cues and due to life's curves have let them go. I will give Mikes cues a ten to perfection and play ability, i will give Steve's cue a nine to perfection and a ten to play ability, at the cost and time line to Mikes cues less, but believe me you aren't sacrificing any PLAY ABILITY with a cue from Steve to ANYONE!!!

Steve does make an outstanding cue. He is definitely underrated because he isn't well known outside of the East coast. But there is a reason he is one of the 1st people to sell out at SBE year after year.

I don't know if was ALL Steve or the combination of things, but one of the best hitting cues I ever tried was a Brunswick Titlist converted by him. The shaft that was on this cue wasn't made by him though. It was a Gus Szamboti shaft that the guy who owned the cue got somewhere. That cue hit like a dream.
