Steve Mizerak

further question?

Did something happen to Steve over the weekend? Or are you just asking about his room and senior tour?

I saw him a couple weeks ago, at a Play the Pro fundraiser.
He could barely walk or talk.Didn't recognize him.
Possibly had a stroke.(medical!)
Anyone have more info?

I talked with the MIZ, around the 20th of this month at his pool-room. He was doing fine. I also saw him at the BCA Trade show July 10th. Doing fine.

I believe there was an article in BD that indicated Steve did have a stroke several months ago or so. I think it also stated that Steve was in good spirits and was committed to making a full recovery. I certainly wish him well. He has done more than his fair share to popularize this game.

I am a fan of the MIZ and miss him playing.
I saw him July 9 and he wasn't doing fine.
Blud said he was doing fine.
Unless he had a miracle recovery.

What I meant, "doing fine" is just that. He did have a stroke way back. He has gotten better and is "doing fine" considering how serious it was.. If you knew him on a personal basis as I, do you would understand what"doing fine" meant.

You really don't have to take everything so personally. I don't think the author was questioning your integrity but merely stating what he saw.

Also, you really don't need to know someone personally to figure out if they are not doing o.k. I don't want to start a pissing contest but you really have some good advice to give and I hate to see it when you take things so personally when it's obvious the guy isn't bad mouthing anyone.

I don't know why but this post really irked me and that is the only reason I am writing. I'm sure you mean nothing by it, but it's the way you write it I guess.

Wishing the best to the Miz

Dave

I might have taken this a little personal if I was Blud. It was not a flame, but there are subtleties there that could be taken as a put down whether that was the true intent or not.

Thanks Bluewolf, you hit the nail on the head, however, thanks for your in put. For thoses who do not like what I post about my friends or other subjects, past it up and go elseware. We won't miss you.

blud and the Miz

First of all, i had no idea the Miz had a stroke and what condition he was in.There wasn't any press about his stroke that i knew of.
I read BD and did not see any news of him.
I am a fan of the MIZ and was sad to see his condition, and definitely not trying to be hard feeling or throwing flames.
I sincerely hope the MIZ recovers soon, and gets back to playing pool.

i play with a person who use to own paramus billiards with MIZ. I want to know everything i can about this guy. from what i understand he was the best at what he does. The guys name is Roy and from what i understand he use to give Steve 9-7 in one pocket. Roy is a lil out of stroke but still plays the best i have ever seen someone play in person. I learned so much from him and i do everytime i play with him.

Nothing personal whatsoever Chuck but the numbers just don't add up. Ronnie Allen, thought by most to be the greatest one pocket player ever wouldn't give Miz anything. In 1973 they played for a dime a game in The Greenway in Baton Rouge and after two days broke even. I don't know Roy and he could be a champion but giving Miz 9-7 is hard to swallow. Unless Miz was a kid or an old man.

There you go again. Just when I thought you might be decent you go and add that last statement. So for the record, learn how to spell and understand that there are people who will have differing opinions from you. That doesn't mean they are bashing you but for some reason you are only decent to people who always agree with you. Believe me when I say that I will take you up on your offer of passing on your infinite words of wisdom beginning with what I can assume will be a thought provoking reply to this.
Bluewolf. I really appreciate you explaining to me what the intent might or might not be. My 2nd grade education required such an explanation. Please go back to posting about you and your hubbies skill levels and the incredible safeties you play that no one could recover from. I learn more and more every day.
You two are the best...

Dave (who finally had enough of these two extremely irritating people)
Aaahhhh! Now I feel better :)

Bill, I do understand where you are coming from that it is hard to believe but this is what i was told from Roy. He looks like he might be about 60+ age could have got the best of him. Take it for what it is worth i was just stating something i heard "come from the horses mouth". then again what do I know i'm only 22 right i wouldnt even be able to tell you who was the vice president in 1973.

N.P. Chuck. I understand. You hang in there. Like I said, could be true. Miz is close to 60 now too. I can tell you are an honest guy. Not enough of them.
