Still no luck on identifying this cuemaker

I would start to assume that its an 8yo prodigy in his dad's basement and will be worth over 100k in a few years once he comes out of the shadows. :D lol.

Seriously, this cuemaker did some great work, it was a little banged up when I got it but I would love to get it to him to refinish so I can do him justice when I play with it. I have had several compliments on the cue and really want to find the maker.

The emblem is engraved and is a small B with a Q around it. I picked it up in a pool hall in southern california.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Carl

Hmmm...well there's usually a lot of low-key cuemakers out there. We have one locally who used to have a shop for excellent cues but closed it down and now rarely makes one. Image the guy from Kill Bill, that makes those excellent quality swords, and that would be how this guy is thought of around here.

I don't recognize the stamp, looks like an 8 insignia in the first pic and then a 'B' in the second. I'll be happy to research and it see if I can come up with anything though.

Sorry, I should have been a little descriptive about it. I'll edit my first post and include some details.

Some other information that might help is around how much it cost and the name or locale of the pool hall, if you remember any of these details. It might not be a big brand stick, but I've had some pretty good cues that I didn't spend a fortune on and really like.

I purchased the cue at Gary's Victor Billiards in Victorville. (great pool hall btw) The cue was taken in and held for a bad gambling debt from someone else, so I got the cue for just under $200 (i think) because thats what the debt was... The cue hits great and the inlays/points are great.

The only thing that comes to mind is QB Customs, not a very well known manufacturer. Thing about it is, their brand is usually along the shaft and is "QB Customs" in script. Not only that, they usually run about $2k for high quality cues. Still trying to find more information about this, but it's not a very familiar looking cue or brand.

Can't find much on QB Cues, however, it seems promising that would be who made it. Since I do not know the origins or history of the cue, I do not know if it is an original shaft or not. I will get more pictures up soon.

If you find something or contact information, that would be awesome. Thanks for the information!

If anyone else knows something or knows anything about QB Custom Cues...please let me know.

Yeah, they're one of those local cue makers that aren't very public. They go by QB Custom and Qball Cues and are based out of Pacific, MO. They've been around for about 6-8 years now. Can be reached at (636) 485-4354. They don't have a website unfortunately. This may or may not be the manufacturer. Hope it helps!
