STOLEN cues at VNEA in Veags.

I had my cues stolen by a cab driver while I was attending the VNEA tourney in Vegas.

Included was my Predator 99-5, Mezz Powerbreak 2, Lightning Bolt Jump/Break(just purchased 1 day earlier), Chilton Flying Eagle Jump cue, Bunjee jumper, and my instroke 3x5 cowboy case.

If anyone in the Vegas area see's these cues around or in pawn shops could please let me know.

I have been in contact with the Cab Co. (ACE) and have the drivers name and they will not do anything about. I am working of getting survalience(sp) tapes from the airport, as this is where it happened. Nothing has showed up at the Lost and Found either.

My home owners ins. will cover it if I dont find them.

Sorry to hear that. I had mine stolen several years ago. I talked with someone who had his and his team mates wallets stolen while they were playing a match.

Just a warning to all who travel. Protect your goods.

Did you forget them in the cab or did the driver put them in the cab and drive off without you??

Ok here's the story

It was 3:30 AM and leaving to the hotel to the airport. One of the tournament directors was waiting to catch a cab also so we rode together to cut down the cost of the cab. The second we got in the cab the driver was a totol a-hole to us. We arrive at the airport and the other gentlemen paid for the ride in the cab, so I got out and was discussing with him what I owed for the ride. The next thing we knew was that our luggage was on the street (not on the sidewalk), my cues were gone and the cab was several blocks down the road.

It was hard to believe that this all happened so fast and it left us both standing their wondering how we didnt notice him drive off.

Well I find you story interesting, and ask why do you only want the Surveillance Tapes from the Airport. Why not get them from the Point of Pickup Showing you placing the cues, or Cues Case, etc. in the Cab. Have you been in contact with Las Vegas Metro Police Department, as the Theft of your Cue because of Dollar Amount (Predator 99-5, Mezz Powerbreak 2, Lightning Bolt Jump/Break, Chilton Flying Eagle Jump cue, Bunjee jumper, and my instroke 3x5 cowboy case) is a FELONY (Meaning Conviction is TIME IN STATE PRISON). FYI Neveda is very hard on Crime, and Criminal do not like getting Caught in Neveda as their Criminal justice System is HARD on those Convicted of CRIME...

They also have a web cam inside the taxi. Have you looked into that?

I have not had any good experience with any cab driver in Vegas yet, and I have taken a lot of cabs there.

Sorry to hear your unfortunate incident.

After reading the above the Crime if it was a Crime took Place at the LVN Airport, and i am not sure what Police Agency has Jurisdiction from Crimes Committed at the Airport in LVN.

But if the Said Cab Drive accidentally drove away with “YOUR” Property he or she should have Turned in SAID PROPERTY to the Cab Company, and they the Cab Company Should have contacted you to make Arrangement to Return Said property.

At the Point the Cabby did not turn in the Found Property, and Decided to Keep it, Hock it, etc., and not return it to the Cab Patron he has in my OPINION COMMITTED A FELONY, because of the Dollar Amount of the Property.

Like I said you need to contact the Law Enforcement Agency who Police LVN Airport, and File a Crime Report, and put the POS in the SLAM...

http://www.answers.com/topic/las-vegas-metropolitan-police-department

According to this linl above it is LVN Metro Police who Police the LVN Airport. Contact Metro and file a report...

I have been in contact with the police and am trying to work something out with them.

What do you mean...trying to work something out with them. ????

That sentence makes no sense, and so does your story. Which is what I think this is.....one BIG story. I know, scan in the police report for all of us to see.

Well I am not sure how the Law Read in Nevada, but when i was a LEO in Cali. If a Person Committed a FELONY it did not have to be done in my View. A Reporting Party Could make a Report, or Complaint, and if like you Case of a Theft where the Amount of the Property Exceed I think it was 300.00 it was a Felony. We acted, and went after the BAD GUY. Are the COPS working you Theft, or are they Jerking You Around.???

Also to FILE A FALSE POLICE REPORT is a CRIME in Most Places. Nevada Law Enforcement is not folk to mess with, as Nevada has some of the STRICTEST LAWS, on little thing like Drug Procession (small amounts) that in other State would get you a 100 BUCK Fine. Nevada you are looking at time in the Soap on the Rope Hotel...

Wow,

I try asking for some help of people keeping a eye out for my stolen cues and then people accuse me of it not actually happening. Real COOL.

The reason the cab company wont do anything about it is because in the cab they have a sign that reads "No responsible for lost property".

I have filed a report with the police. They say they do not have enough evidence to go after the guy as he could of just forget to unload it. If this was or is the case, then he probably unloaded it with his next customers and drove off before they realized they had something that wasnt theirs. Now what do the cops do about it?? Who broke the law now?? The web cam in the taxi dont do no good as it all took place behind the car with the trunk up. The case and cues were enclosed in a joe porper travel case with my name tag, address, and phone number on it. Anyone around the world could have it right now.

Although I am almost positive that the driver did this on purpose how do I prove that. I guess if i was to put myself in the drivers shoes. If i took customers somewhere and accidently forgot to unload a package with them and then unloaded with the next customers in my car I sure would wouldnt want to go to jail over it. Did he actually commit a crime or not.

If someone could give me some honest help on what do I would appreciate it and not have someone like "watchez" come and bash me about the whole deal.

Thank You

I agree NOT COOL

That is BS, they should talk with the Driver and ask where is the Cue?

That too is BS, as the COPS should follow up you report.

I did try to help you...

PoolSleuth,

Yes I know you are trying to help me and I appreciate it. I just wish people on the other end would be as cooperative about it.

My question to you as it seems like you are very informative about it. Do you think there is any hope for me in this case? If not my homeowners ins. will cover it, but I prefer not to go that route.

Sounds like you've done about all you can do. If the cops can't go after him and the cab co. won't do anything, then your only hope is someone from Vegas who post's here {or lurks} happens to have them offered to them at a bargain price. Even then you're probably going to be a long wait for them to turn up. Like a few of the others here, sorry to hear of your problem. I think I'd just turn them into the Insurance company and get new stuff. Good luck, Sam

If only u could remember the cab's plate number,it would be easier.

There's nothing i can do then to just wish u good luck man, hopefully u'll get back ur stuff soon :(

Byez :)

Well I am not in Las Vegas or I would try and help. Best advise is to spend some money on Phone Call to the Las Vegas Police Department, and Talk to the Detectives Bureau, or a Watch commander at the Airport or the area of the police Department that Supervises the Airport Police Officers/Detail.

Be nice, be friendly, and be polite. Nice people get help faster than A HOLES.

Try and find someone in the PD who is sympathetic with you loss, you are a Crime Victim, and you must remember LVN has many Crime Daily, and your is just another Crime, and you are not I am sure a High Profile Guy, or VIP.

Like I said call the COPS until you run out of Dime, or Time.

If i live in Sin city I would try and be you go between.

Last Suggest Post a Message for AZ-Bers live in Sin city to Contact you as maybe someone could make some call for you on their DIME...
