Stolen cues

I had a couple of cues stolen from me about two months ago. The good news is I have put in a lot of time on the net, and now know exactly who has them. I don't think this individual stole them though. I feel bad that he will be out the money, but they are my cues!! I am concerned that I can't produce a receipt though. I did file a police report with model numbers and case description though. Do you guys think I'm dead in the water without a receipt?

Did you happen to take any photos showing the wood grain of your cues? If so, maybe...

If you filed a police report, let them deal with it. Don't go on your own to get them back.

If it is at a pawn shop they will usually be compliant. They don't want trouble with receiving stolen goods.

As was stated above, pictures will help. Anything that is an identifying feature.

Unfortunately I did not. I purchased one of the cues from jjcue about 5 years ago, maybe they can come up with a receipt for me. The other one was purchased about 14 years ago and a receipt is impossible. Both are limited editions, so that might help my cause

here is some tough love bud
why would give the perpetrator of your stolen cues the weakness of your case
ie no recieipts??
CMON MAN

I didn't think I did bbb. That is the reason for the lack of details in my post regarding what kind of cues, who the individual is- etc etc

Thanks bbb, I will get them back one way or another, I'm just hoping it's the easy way. I don't think the individual that has them stole them, but if he lies to the cops and says he doesn't have them he is just as guilty as the original thief In my book

" I don't think this individual stole them though"
What is it with these pool cue thieves?
I remember some time ago, owner of some cues here (let s call him O ) posted that he lost his cues after he left an event. After further checks , it was discovered a guy (let's call him T) saw the cues in parking lot and just put the cues in his car and drove away . Later T contacted O. Then there was some debate about whether T was actually a thief or not .

What is it with these thieves in the pool world? They are ambivalent and undecided about being a thief? "Oh sorry I didn't mean to steal your cues"
I mean they are giving out mixed signals so they will never make good thieves. They are thinking that after they have stolen something , returning it will cancel out the offence.
Moral of story - Pool folks make bad thieves so stop thieving .
:D

Spartan, in an attempt to be vague, and not tip off the individual that has them my post may have been misleading. My cues were stolen out of my vehicle about two months ago. Through research on the Internet I now know who has them, but I believe they purchased them from the actual thief. I will hear back from the officer helping me with the case tomorrow. The officer was going to the individuals house to question said individual.

unless he was part of the theft he will tell the cop who he bought them from.
the cop will take them as evidence and you will get them back after the case is closed.

stolen stuff

One of my buddies laid his phone down... very soon it was gone. The security cameras didn't help much either, the baddie was wearing a hoodie. He said it coist him about $1000.00 altogether.

When the manager was asked about theft in the Room, the manager said there hadn't been any...

HaHaHa, 3-4 weeks ago somebody took a case & 2 cues...

America has many millions unemployed. Theft is a problem. Be Careful.

Take pics of your Cue & Case... put a mark on it (even a file mark on the joint threads)

Good advice...:)

I've read on here there is a way to have a cue "chipped"...much like they use on pets.

Wish I had a rfid chip in my cues for sure. I also wish I had a gps tracking device hidden in my cue case that I could track with my phone.
