My playing partner and I started practicing straight pool playing races. We get one inning each starting with ball in hand on a break shot and score 1 point for high run and 1 point for each 14 ball rack run. Winner of previous inning shoots first.
It seems to be working well since he put a 56 on me yesterday on my little pockets after only barely getting to the 2nd rack a few times in our first couple of sessions. And he was dead in line for a good break shot but just missed it. (But I did win the race, lol!)
It's kind of funny I beat him to death playing 10 ball the same day and he beats my high run for this year while he just started playing straight pool and I just started hitting some 10 ball.
