I recently purchased a new webcam and have been playing with streaming.

Would instructors on here be able to give advice based off of a stream? Or is it better to just record video?

Pro's and Con's of a stream

Pro's
real time chatting with instructors
can setup requested shots or drills and try live

Con's
fixed camera position
can only watch it live unless it is recorded (possible)
timing of the stream and availability of the instructors


If I was going to setup a live stream Friday, Saturday or Sunday would anybody be able to advise and help me out?
 
The beauty of this section is that it allows us players to post videos and ask for advice completely free of charge.

That's due to a couple reasons, and I'm sure there's more.

1. The instructors here are good people.
2. It doesn't interfere with their schedule, as they get to choose when to answer.

What you're asking them to do is take time out of their days to critique your play in a live setting, and to answer questions during the stream. At that point you're practically taking a lesson from them, and most instructors don't give free lessons.

I think you're idea is great, so please don't think I'm coming down on it or you. I just wanted to give you fair warning that while there might be some (or even all) instructors that would do this for free, it's possible they would want to be compensated, and rightfully so.

On the bright side, since there are no travel requirements, maybe some could do it at a fraction of their in person lesson costs.

I stream every day via my online classroom. There are some things you can do - such as coach - review video - study strategy - etc. When it comes to mechanics, it is better to have a qualified instructor in the room with you - I point that out prior to scheduling an online class/or stream. I have also found that using an online classroom is a great way to transfer information - such as diagrams/books/ articles/ videos/ etc. I have a classroom set up with digitalsamba.com - and I also use a anymeeting.com -

It is a great way to reach players half way across the globe that cannot come to my office to sit down and talk with me.

I have also been able to conduct seminars are different topics such as the mental game - and I think it is an awesome way to reach as many players as possible.
 
I expected those reactions but I thought I'd still ask.

I'll try to get some video's up on YouTube over the next week or two and post them here. I'm interested to get some feedback.
