Has anyone fooled around with OBS software?

It is completely freeware (open source), and available on Win/Mac/Linux. I just tried it today, and I'm fooling around with the different settings. I don't have the settings nailed down yet. I'm having slight audio sync issues, but I have a lot more experimenting to do.

Any pluses or minus if anyone uses this?

I'm trying to find a free software to use to record my practice sessions to disk (no live streaming). Thus far I've been using a "borrowed" copy of Wirecast 4, but it is giving me consistent problems with my camera feed going all black right in the middle of a recording.

I use it regularly.
Pros- easy to use once you get the setup settings set.
i had some issues w the sound at first but ok now.
theres lots of examples on youtube
I can point to either my laptop or external monitor for recording.
I can plug my microphones in and record the sound without hearing it live.
Once setup its just one click to start recording

Cons
i get high cpu warnings.
it creates large files about 3.5 gig for every hour

Thanks for the feedback guys. Vidy, I will friend you later maybe you can help...

In the meantime, I tried fooling around with it more today. Tried many different settings. I could not get the audio to sync. My test is clapping my hands. Its off maybe half a second.

Then, I discovered a new problem. Importing the resulting files into iMovie completely boggs down iMovie.

I'm on a late 2011 iMac with quad core 2.5GHz i5 processors, and an SDD boot drive, and running the latest OS X 10.11. My camera hookup is via HDMI and an Ultra Studio mini recorder.

Everything works flawlessly and super fast when using Wirecast 4, with respect to encoding quality and then opening the resultant files in iMovie. (except the feed goes black randomly)
