Stretch Index for other Cloths!

Hello All! I’ve watched the videos on using the stretch index on Simonis but has anyone used a stretch index for other cloths such as ANDY, CPBA, or any other decent quality cloth. Any insight would be appreciated.
What determines the correct measurement for other cloths?
Thanks!

I just installed CPBA Competition cloth on my table. I am not a table mechanic btw and this was my first time doing the job. The max stretch across the table that I could get was about 1-1/4". It is "English Green" color. Apparently that matters because I've heard that different colors cloths will stretch different amounts. Anyway, so you're supposed to subtract 3/4" from whatever the max stretch is, to get the stretch index. 1-1/4" minus 3/4" = 1/2". That was my stretch index. I followed the instructions from the video by Average Joe's pool on you tube and it came out pretty decent I think.

I found similar results from CPBA on the Valleys my league team uses. I don't believe the 'subtract 3/4"' is always correct. With a really stretchy cloth it should likely be higher, with a stiff cloth like this, smaller. Better to use a percentage of the maximum stretch. With 860HR on that same size table the maximum stretch I measured was very close to the normal 2.25". Less 0.75" put the index at 1.5", and that's the right number for that cloth. 0.75" is 1/3 of 2.25". 1.25" max stretch you saw would then give 1.25 - 0.40 = .85", or about 7/8". I'm betting someone will point out how I'm wrong, but that number seemed to work great on the CPBA I installed (tournament blue).
