Stretching bed cloths.

If anyone wants to change my methods of installing the bed cloths, with so called great success, please indicate the size tables you're talking about, and POST pictures of how great the final product turned out, your words are NOT proof!

Even i can't install Simonis 860HR on a 9ft with a 2" stretch, and CORRECTLY install it! If you're getting that stretch side to side, you're NOT getting it end to end, for a balanced stretch!!!

Just put in the disclaimer you're NOT a table mechanic, and your METHODS are yours, and yours alone, and are NOT recommended by RKC!
 
If anyone want to talk about their professional advice, and GIVE their advice about a system I perfected, pioneered, and promoted, do it right here, in front of me, don't take shots at my system behind closed doors, thinking you can get away with your BS because I can't respond back!
 
I install Simonis 860HR on a 7ft Diamond with a stretch index of 1 3/8" side to side and end to end. I install the same cloth on a 9ft with a 1 3/4" side to side and end to end stretch.

I want to see it installed tighter than that, but I want to SEE the stretch lines marked out BEFORE you install the bed cloth!
 
We just got our 9 foot Gold Crown covered today. We checked the index and I actually got 2.25 inches out of it. It took some effort to do it. Backed it off to 2 Inches because it seemed like too much. It turned out absolutely beautiful! We even got the weave pretty straight! Damn straight for rookies anyway. Oh... 860HR.

I swear to God as my witness the stretch line marks were 2 inches.

I am NOT a table mechanic, and my METHODS are mine, and mine alone, and are NOT recommended by RKC!

In the next video I make with Zach, I'm going to show you the end to end stretch. You'll have a balanced stretch when the length of the cloth is stretched 2x as much as the side to side stretch is.

What that means is if you stretch the cloth 2" side to side, then it should also be stretched 2" towards the foot, and 2" towards the head of the slate. Now, if you can reach the side to side 2" stretch, and you can only pull one end to the 2" stretch line, but King Kong can't pull the other end to the 2" stretch line, its because its OVER STRETCHED side to side! Backing off on the side to side allows you to stretch more end to end, until you end up with a balanced stretch!

I didnt mark the ends, but I got very close to 2 inches on each end. Did it just like the video showed.

I judged it by the cloth overhang before and after the stretch, and by having my brother watching the weave to make sure it was straight. The important part was making sure the wrinkles near the side pockets disappeared. Simonis video didnt show marking the ends. Next time I will mark them.

I being honest Glen. Is it possible that post flood Simonis has more stretch then it used to? Dont know. But the 2 inch side stretch FELT right.

I have to say it does look very good. Especially for hacks like us.

Looks good, and more importantly, you seem happy with it.
The question you asked will be hard to answer, since production has now resumed in the factory that flooded. The stuff they produced in the other factory while the flooded one was rebuilding was a bit different and stretched quite a bit more on the ends. Very strange. I have yet to see what they're producing on the new looms. Hopefully, it will be back to normal.

Very happy. I'll be ecstatic if we never have to re stretch it. Dont think we ever will. Fingers crossed.

It sounds like you are saying I might be able to get some normal blue 860 HR for my table in the near future, I hope??

I hope so too! I am eagerly awaiting some feedback on the cloth produced on the new looms. I'm not sure when I'll have my own hands on it, but someone we all know has said he'll be seeing some soon and I hope to get his impression of it.

Word around the camp fire is that’s going to be a while yet. Sorry I don’t have better news. I’ll make a call, I have a friend who might have some(not on AZB). It’s a long shot, but he mite.
