I remember when i first joined this board people talking about the strickland davis match, during the WPC a few years back. Where they are calling Strickland names and he plugs his ears. I just watched this match today. But the video cuts off can anyone tell me who wins please.

Thanks, Mack

I was there and it's my recollection that they weren't calling him names-He just didnt want to hear the loud cheering for Davis (Steve). Unfortunately my memory isnt that great about who won but i think it was Earl.

I suspect you are referring to Earl Strickland vs Steve Davis in stage 2 of the 2003 WPC, a match in which Earl got a little bit out of line with both the crowd, which cheered against him, and with Michaela Tabb, the match referee.

Earl, who won the match 11 - 9, got some bad press, and it set up one of the more memorable moments ever in the WPC event. Earl's next opponent was Asian superstar Yang, and he showed up to the match against Yang carrying flowers which he presented to Michaela Tabb, who was, once again, the match referee.

A WPC classic moment.
