Stripped nut on Hightower (Deluxe)

I was getting too much play in my Hightower deluxe cross slide on the y-axis (top piece, to cut across the workpiece0, so I took it off and then tried to tighten it. Well, it is a brass nut and I didn't get it lined up just right and voila- stripped nut.
Does anyone know what size screw that is? I've got a thread pitch gauge around here somewhere but can't seem to find it now that I need it....
