stripped wood joint break/jump

hi,

i have a break/jump cue that has a wood joint that has stripped where the butt screws in. i can screw the pin in and where it should normally get snug, it just keeps turning and never gets tight enough to break with. i have tried moistening the inside of the wooden joint with some water on a q-tip because i heard that would cause the wood to swell. it seems that the threading is just gone on the inside of the wood. what can i do?

The hole will need to plugged, drilled and re-tapped by a competent repairman.
