Is there a "dress code" or an interpretation of a dress code? I have an analogous argument with my other groups.

People keep bemoaning American Pool’s image . However, hanging in many pool halls are the same cliche posters of ‘The Hustler,’...bar fights and swigging bourbon. Add a bandaid over the eye and a tough guy who somehow beat the champ despite rarely practicing and being in a constant alcoholic haze.

reality: the real tough guys in life are those with self discipline. They get up at sunrise, go for a run and, if they want to ge champion, put in the hours at a sport.

A clean shirt, pressed slacks, matching belt and shoes. Common courtesy and sportsman attitude in both winning and losing. Anything less than this and Pool remains relegated to being a bar game with a drunken Newman staring down from a crooked poster.

An aside, The billiards room at our Legion has, among other things, replica medals and photos of 2 Victoria Cross recipients on the wall. A hundred times more inspiring.
