Suggestions on what case to use on airplanes

i wouldn't rely on anything but my haliburton.... i took out their foam- replaced it with some high density i cut out to hold my whitten 3-6 and put my whitten in it. i actually watched the loading of my cues from my plane window and was horrified how it was tossed around... but i knew they were protected.... when i got home the haliburton even had a dent in one side- that is one tough a$$ case,.....
i bought it specially to goto vegas one year... now i also store cues in it year round till i travel. worth every bit of the 250 bucks i paid..

i remember there was this guy on ebay selling aluminum-looking cases with some shock absorbing foam, there was even a picture of it with a car on top.
hmm, if only i remembered the name.

Interesting. I haven't checked a cue yet, but I put my hard case inside a soft fly-fishing bag - very nice, fits a Justis or George case perfectly, and it's also padded nicely. And of course, it looks like a fly-fishing rod case.
 
Halaburton Zero case to check on the plane, and put a soft case in your suitcase to carry the cues around
 
I usually mailed my cues to where I was going, although Haliburton with a porper cover worked well. As did my Instroke inside of a big ole honkin duffle bag that I no longer need for Rodeo, well padded with clothes.
The one time I tried to put my cues inside of a suitcase, the suitcase went to Alaka, while I was enroute to North Carolina.
After that, fedex!
But if you're traveling ALOT, the mail just isn't going to cut it.
Whatever you do, get the most solid protection around, pad around that real well, and hope you don't have to fly through Denver!
