Super billiards expo adding a Fargo limit for the amateur?

I believe the Expo is in a downward spiral and may only be around a few more years unless
Allan gets his sh*T together. One loss pro tournament sucks for the fans and the players. I
don't blame any of them if they don't come back! Shaw will win the Pro side and Mika will
win the Sr tournament.

I have not seen any downturn in attendance at the Expo. Remember that it's also one of the TAP league nationals which fills a whole hall and a half just for them, and the main tournaments have been sold out every year I looked, including this year. I was going to play in the senior (50+) event this year, but it was sold out so playing in the standard open one along with my son, which is pretty filled up as well. Hopefully I'll get a few of the players that miss that I see on the tables next to me instead of the high B and A players I have gotten as my opponents the other few times I went LOL At least I have won one of the sets when I played, although I have lost in the first round each time.

Well this limitation did not seem to go as well. In the Wed warmup event my second opponent was a Hispanic pro, don't remember his full name, first name was Gomez (not the Superman Gomez hehe). He had 1 miss in 6 racks, only two games I won was when he scratched in the first set and a break and run in the second set. He was in the money room a few times, I pointed him out to someone and they said "oh yea I know him, he has been a pro level player for like 30 years". Also have seen Frankie Hernandez playing in the Amateur Open even.

Neven mind the TAP league, skill level 3 run outs and playing kick safes, 4s and 5s running out full racks. The lack of dignity in leagues never ceases to amaze me.

I have no idea why this game is "fun" at any level past banging balls around with friends, everything else is just hard work where the opponent is the owners son.

No one said there was Fargo rating cut off in the wednesday warm up…just the amateur. Tap league isn’t the expo’s responsibility. All they do is collect rent for the the tables from them. they don’t run it lol Tap is always full of sandbaggers.

From what I saw... the fargo rating cut off was inconsistent. Some players were not allowed to play. Others with higher fargos were allowed to play.

also...

I heard mention from the tournament desk that matches are not going to be entered into Fargo again this year... don't know how true this is, but IMO, if you are not going to contribute to it then you shouldn't be allowed to use it. You have a tournament with almost 1000 players who are playing people from completely other areas of the country... if there is any amateur tournament out there that should be entering matches into fargo... it's this one.

I was looking for Allen hoping to give him some encouragement to enter scores to Fargo but I never did see him. This issue is causing me to rethink my support for SBE.
