Loctite says 2 years unopened from date stamp.

On Ultra gel it is stamped on bottom

First numbers is year

next three are the date. days starting from Jan 01... 007 would be Jan 7th.

111703 is the stamp on the one I have here.

1=2011
117? June 17ish I'm close...

are you sure that's the format? what does the 3 mean then?

to me, it makes more sense that the first 2 digits are year, next 2 digits are day, and the next 2 are month, but i'm not basing this on any hard info, that's just what it looks like.

Unless Loctite got it wrong.....:(

I'll pulled the info off their website. If it has more than 4 digits, ignore them.

Shelf Life:
Lot Code Explanation:
(Lot code printed on
bottom of bottle)
< 2% by weight
(< 20 g/L)
25 months from date of manufacture
(unopened)
YDDDXX
Y = Last Digit of Year of Manufacture
DDD = Day of Manufacture based on
365 days in a year
XX = Disregard
For example: 9061
= 61st day of 2009
= March 2, 2009

ah ok, that's good info...i guess if that's how they say it is, then that's how it is

the ultra gel bottle i'm using now also says 111703. i store mine in the freezer until i'm ready to use it. 2 years unopened is a pretty decent time though.

The 03 could mean the "shift" or even "hour of the day" that it was processed. I would assume they pull test samples as they make the stuff. They may test a bad batch and need to pull it before it reaches us unsuspecting customers. If they don’t test and mark every hour, they are throwing away an entire shift or days worth.
