During Amazon prime days I ordered a cheapo CriCal cf cue . My wife ,being ever so thrifty found one that had been returned because the shipping box was damaged . The cue was said to be in excellent condition .
Cue arrives today , the box is undamaged but something is rattling around inside . The CriCal box is inside of an amazon box and the shaft was in a plastic sleeve outside of the CriCal box . The Crical box was empty...no butt to be had . Why would anybody risk their job and reputation to steal something so cheap .
I never buy anything from amazon without free returns and this is going back in the morning .

Amazon is usually good with returns. I ordered the Crical awhile back and it was very well packaged. I was worried it might be dinged, damaged etc but no issue. I changed the tip which was a little hard for my liking and the cue hits the ball pretty good.

No issue with my return and have gotten the new cue already . Package good and it looks good . When I went to reorder the cue was 35% off so out the door was $100 . My intent is to play with this cue for 3 weeks or so and if I don't like it..back it goes .I will post my thoughts on what a cheap cf cue is like .

Each their own I guess. I could never use something for three weeks and return it if there was nothing wrong with it. Also they just don't grade it and resell. They have to process the return, pay to ship the return back, grade it, repackage it, and reship it it to the next buyer. That cost a lot of money for someone to play with a cue for three weeks for free.
If someone were to sell a cue on AZB and the buyer played with it for three weeks, then called the seller up to say they wanted their money back, and if the seller wanted their cue back, to send them a prepaid shipping label and they would return it, would that be alright to you if you were the seller? It wouldn't. It's one thing if the product was defective or misrepresented, but to just return it because you don't like it is a whole other thing.

Probably exactly correct. I just know the customer end. I only return defects. Not many of those either. Last thing I returned was a crooked stick. The replacement was straighter so I quit there.

If the return goes through, they just grade it and resell it.
For most companies including Amazon, a big portion of returns, especially if they can tell it was opened or used (and for some companies it is always what they do if they can tell it was opened), are resold at a loss as being used items, because they are now just that, used. Sometimes they will resell the items for a loss as "used" on their own site, but most often they get sold for pennies on the dollar to various resellers. This of course causes prices to be higher for everyone when people decide to use the ability to return something as a means of being able to "let me try this for a while to see if I really want it or not".

Yeah ever since the web and return policies there has been free rental syndrome. I imagine industry people are welcome but I imagine "zey has veys" for chronic pile ons.
Big web vendors do take care of the costs obviously...

If there is nothing wrong other than you don't like how it plays, why would you return it? Just sell it.
I agree. I made a person mad on here as a seller when I told him if he bought it I wouldn’t take a return because he didn’t like the hit. That’s his risk for buying a cue (a lambros.. a maker he never played with) without ever hitting with one. all I care about is it straight and there is no damage. That the item it exactly as described. If you don’t like the hit sell it to someone else. I would never send it back because I didn’t like the hit. A big company like amazon or a major cue reseller doesn’t care I guess.

As I said in my original post I had ordered a used and returned cue that was sent to me missing the butt . I may use the cue 1 hour and think it is a piece of Chinese junk , who knows . I cannot seeing it taking the place of my Owen as my normal player . It will most likely be in the car just in case I decide to play on a whim . My wife has bought a lot of lower price item from Amazon that were broken or missing parts....usually got a full refund and told to keep the item .

Amazons returns are so easy. My wife just bought something that was the wrong size. They give you a QR code. You walk into a staples.. hand them the item and they scan the QR code and you’re done.

My mother in law was telling us about an aquaintance that bought some type of cooking pot that turned out having been cooked in when she got it. Guess the person before didn't like how it cooked. Personally, unless it's got issues, I think you own it once you cook in it.
