SVB’s wrist movement during his stroke and his changes over the years

I noticed that years ago Shane’s stroke used to look a bit different than it does today. He’s always had that habit of turning his wrist a bit on the final stroke, I think as compensation because he would let his right elbow move slightly sideways away from his body, but it seems like the bent wrist plus turning it has gotten more pronounced. I also noticed that he has a tendency to not follow through on certain shots. This is not a critique because it works well for him. I think the wrist position which goes from being bent inwards to outwards on the delivery is called pronation/supination.

Anyone know what I’m talking about? I’m wondering if he’s ever said why he does that and why he changed it a bit. If you look at older videos of him you can see it, but it’s far less pronounced. His wrist was kept a bit straighter. On some shots he seems to have it bent inwards quite a lot and thus the wrist movement is bigger. His bridge used to be a bit longer as well.

i think he's staying on the right side of the object ball more and not letting his stroke out as often as required when in his youth

that said he was spearing em in from everywhere when he dismantled Gorst in Tx last week

Filler seams to get into his head and puts a hitch in his giddy-up

you can't do that twist of the wrist with a low deflection shaft. got to stay on the path ofthe shot. with carbon it'll throw the aim even more that old wooden LD shafts. the tighter pockets also requires to be more accurate.
My guess is that he changed his stroke and movement when he started using CF shafts.

Probably just a natural evolution of his stroke. He doesn't seem like the type of player that would focus on his technique as much as someone like Neils would. His body has changed a bit as he's aged. Maybe it's just a result of that.

The follow-through thing I think has something to do with using the dumb extension all the time. With the extension, he played with more of a pinned elbow and used a "snatchy" type of stroke on power shots. Without the extension, he was more of a natural elbow dropper on the follow-through.

Would be interesting to hear his thoughts on his actual stroke as it's one of the most powerful strokes of all-time.
