I havent noticed for other player, but are SVB and Bergman using longer than normal cue?

If so, is this an butt extension or what?

Thanks

he changes cue on a regular basis?!!

i would probably not say on a 'regular' basis but, yes he changes it up.

Think about it. For one he is not that long with the longer cue in comparison.

The longer cue can be good for your stroke for normal shots but can make finesse shots a bit more antsy.

The table is not the same in the beginning as it is at the end of each day.

Golfers are allowed 14 clubs because every shot is not the same.

Pool players now have break & jump cues. That was not always the case.

Earl is older, but has said that he could never go back to a regular length cue.

I have 29" & 30" OB shafts & that one inch does make a difference.

That said I also have a Cuetec break/jump cue that has a 6" butt extension & the difference is just that different than adding even that 1" to the front of the cue.

Sometimes a change just increases one's focus.

I'm not sure nor really have any idea as to why he made the change, but I'm sure that he had his reason(s).

Best 2 You & All.

I agree the extra inch of shaft does benefit I feel if you have a bigger wing span and a long stroke. Not crazy long but it gives you an extra bit instead of maxing out your stroke before it is intended. This I have found because I fully extend my bridge arm. Much like shane you can see that he is very much stretched out and this is to limit break down and movement. Iam not entirely sure if bergman is using a long cue or if hes just a short guy. Shane is approx. 6 ft and bergman is shorter by a bunch. I also tried the " earl cue" ( Big grip made from tape, 6 in extension and 30 in shaft). Not sure if that's exactly what he uses but its what I came up with and I could actually use it. But being jacked up or shooting finesse shots it was difficult because it was very butt weighted obviously. Theres no standard to what you do to your cue other then minimum length possibly. Look at hockey players with sticks they all have things they want done specifically to give them a desired feel. If it works it works
