switching cues during a game or practice

On another thread, it was suggested that one should use cues of varying weights during a game. or in practice.

It would seem that once the optimal cue is found, a player would want to stick with it so that it would become an extension of the body & the consistency help to hardwire the stroke.

Clarification appreciated.

While I didn't read that thread, whoever posted that information is incorrect, and you have the right information already. Some pros will break with a different weight cue (mostly an ounce lighter than their playing cue). Consistency comes from playing with the same equipment. That said, a good player can quickly and easily adapt to playing with another cue, regardless of the weight.
