switching from Phenolic to Water Buffalo

Tonight i sold off my break cue, and I'm going to put a water buffalo tip on one of my Espiritu shafts, and use that cue for breaking.

Now is there going to be any notice-able difference when breaking? IE loss of power, or CB control.

When I first bought this Espiritu, I practiced with the WB tip for about a hour just to see how it played, and breaking with the tip was nice to break with, from what i remember, but this was also almost 2 yrs ago.

Also, has anyone else switched from a Phenolic tip to a hard leather tip or a hard layer'd tip? And how did they like it, or what did they notice in the change?

Often I'll just use my regular cue with a pressed Elk Master tip for breaking, but I do have a shaft with a canvas based phenolic tip I use from time to time. However, it's way too easy to mishit with the phenolic and really lose control of the cue ball. As a consequence, most of the time I'll use my regular cue, or another cue upon which is installed a Talisman BK break/jump tip , which works great. Plenty of power and no sense of loss of control or miscues, even when hitting pretty far off center, which I intentionally do on some breaks.
