Synthetic Tips

Good for some shots, bad for some. Anything that needs a special stroke looks to work better with a leather tip (shooting over a ball, off the rail, masse, drag spin with a lot of side). I have only tried the soft variation, maybe the others work better for those, in my 4 weeks of playing with one I miscued a lot on fairly standard shots for me. After the miscue, it sometimes left a very hard and sticking chalk mark on the cueball, like it was compressed on there with a press. I actually had to scrape if off with a fingernail off the ball as it would not just rub off easily. It feels different depending on the power of the shot, with a 75% or higher power shot there is a split-second dead feeling as it compresses that almost no leather tip I have tried has.

We reformulated the soft to perform better and the people playing with the medium and hard don't ever want to switch back to leather.
