Szamboti "style" cue's

Exactly what characteristics does a cue have to have to be considered a Szamboti style cue. Lot's of cue's are posted and described as a "Szamboti style" cue and they look nothing like any Szamboti other than the fact that they have 4 points and veneer's. Where this is more evident is when it's a super fancy cue and someone add's Szamboti style in the description. Most of the time it's in the for sale area and probably is added as a buyer's incentive.

Szamboti didn't really have a style other then they looked like a lot of Balabushkas in many ways. One thing he sometimes did was veneer rings above the butt cap that matched the ones in the points. I once ordered a cue from him ordered as an exact copy of a Balabushka. Not because I was trying to pull something, at that time a Szamboti was worth more the a Bushka anyway. The cue came with the butt cap Veneers. When I called him he said he didn't copy other cues exactly and I was welcome to send it back for a refund. Of course I kept the cue. He did do a propeller inlay on some cues that I see copied now a days. He made some unusual wide stitch rings sometimes. I never have seen them copied, they were pretty ugly.
