How quickly do or can you adjust to poor conditions?
I played on a table that had a different hit or sound on each rail. The cloth speed was ok, the rails were like mud. Some areas of the rails hit ok and some would grip the ball and change the spin and greatly slow the ball. I couldn't get any read on it. I gave up and accepted a miss before I even shot. I had no backup for patterns. I usually play natural lines to roll CB for shape. I might take 1-3 rails or none. This table would grip the ball and cause it to curve and kill the speed. I was short, long, hitting balls all over the table. I played about a C level. I will not compete on those tables again!
"How do they do that!" road players adjust to beat a local guy is beyond me.
