Table felt color

Whatever you do don't get black cloth- makes the darker balls almost invisible. In the fall I played on a home table in Big Bear that had black cloth and it was very difficult to play on for the aforementioned reason.

My table isn't as fancy as some here, but I recently had it re-felted with platinum colored cloth and I really like it.

The type of table it is does not matter too much, for a player the color would be dictated by what makes it easy to see and play on, and maybe décor as a secondary within limits. Tan is pretty good to use so I would guess your platinum color would be decent to see on.
