Table height ??............

For a Gold Crown(or a Diamond for that matter) what is considered the standard/usual slate-to-floor distance? Played on one the other day that seemed kinda low. My back was "talkin"to me more than usual after a couple hours.

31" became the standard in the early 1900. Tables made before were 34" slate to floor. It was thought inappropriate for ladies to bend down lower and dresses rise. Whatever.

If your back is sore, Pm me and I will send pictures of a spectacular NON PARALIEL NOVERLY, circa 1880, the standard at the time for championship matches, 7 types of inlay into a burl base. I have owned the table for 25 years and it plays outstanding. We are downsizing and I own two tables, may be selling both, definitely this one.

Your back does not hurt playing on it. The reason I bought a second table, a Mark Gregory Brazilian Rosewood Centennial was my gambling friends complained about the height of the Non Pariel Novelty giving me advantage. So I bought the Centennial and still broke them.
 
The table height plays huge into overall play. Much more probably than any other variable.
