Hey everybody,
I bought a set of Aramith pool balls the other day. I've been using them for several days now, each time cleaning them quickly with a clean cloth after playing. Today, I decided to give them a proper bath, because they got kind of greasy. So I dropped them in warm soapy water, cleaned, rinsed and dried them.
But looking around on the internet, most sites I visited advise to wax them too with special wax. What's the purpose of the wax? Does it change the way the balls play, or is it just to go easy on the cloth? Does wax protect the balls too? I fail to see how it would "penetrate" a lump of plastic to protect it...
Also, I notice the cueball is starting to show brownish burn marks. They're not very noticeable, but they're there. Considering the balls have played no more than 10 hours, I find it a bit surprising. Can somebody tell me if it's normal?
