Taking lessons

Funny thing is, now that my wifes eye doctor is suggesting very expensive wear-all-the-time contact lenses, he also decided that she is no longer the idea candidate for eye surgery she once was... makes you want to say "hmmmmmmmm".

Dave, who is mighty cynical about a lot of things, it's a acquired trait .... never been to no instructor neither (none around here!)

They have other options than lasik. If the cornea is too thin they can do PRK. This is basically the same thing except for they don't do the flap, can only do one eye at a time and there is a longer recovery period.

Definitely go see another doctor.

Hate to disagree with you but I had PRK and they did both eyes at the same time. The way they do PRK is that they burn the epithilium layer of the eye off and then do the same procedure as they do for lasik. The recovery period is longer because the epithilium has to grow back. I had my procedure done about 7 years ago before lasik became the most popular method. There is a greater chance for infection with Lasik because of the flap and bacteria can get under the flap.
