I know talisman tips are really good....but everywhere that I try to but them
they are sold out of mediums. so....I know that triangle tips are good also.
they are single layer? correct?.. if so ...whats the major advantage of
having a layered tip? & should I just go with the triangle tips?

Talisman are excellent tips. I have their Pro series in stock in Soft, Medium and Hard. They hold chalk very well, do not mushroom and require little (if any) maintenance.

Triangle also is a very good tip. Yes, they are non-layered. A bit harder than the Talisman Pro Medium. They do have a tendence to glaze so will need a bit of mainteneance but not much.

Talisman will cost more than Triangle.

Triangles are a little harder than the medium Talisman. Triangles have changed. The old one had bluish top. The new ones aren't as consistent.
But, with Triangle you don't risk delamination as they are not multi-layered.

I don't know about that.
Good ole Triangle last a long time.

This is Fast, yes it does, glaze over, all do, you just get out your sand paper file and stroke it a few light swipes to rough it up some. The triangles and the Tailsman are both hard, about the same, but different tips, different feels. I have been a long term user and promoter of the triangle on these forums. I won my world title with one, set many of my world records with one, this is one hell of a fine tip.

I was rather shocked when I found out the Tailsman pig skins play circles around them, it was well, shocking to me to see that much more performance from them. I enter world competition this year playing with nothing but Tailsmans on my shafts. All the shots you will see made on my DVD's now  being filmed will be by Tailsmans. I made the switch, give one a go and see what I am talking about. Troy has them in stock, buy them from him.

Fast Larry responds, both tips are hard, I think the talisman H and X pig skin are harder than the triangle. That is good.

I love the Talisman WB med. Triangle is good, but I prefer the Talisman.

ok...so I finally got my talisman tip (medium).. I installed it.
have been playing with it for about 2 hours or so. for some reason it feels soft. when I hit the cueball, I dont get that solid feeling that I got from my old tip. (which was a le pro) it feels squishy..in other words...I can
barely feel the tip hitting the cueball... I dont understand.
is there a break in period? I thought a harder tip would feel more solid.

You didn't say whether you used the Talisman Pro or the Water Buffalo. I personally like the WB. Either way it will become harder as it breaks in, and it usually takes in a couple weeks of heavy use to break in. The new tips are tall and I normally reccomend taking the first two layers or so off before shaping a new tip. Otherwise they are too tall in my opinion. Once the tip stops mushrooming and the shape settles in, I think you will be happy. ;)

I just went back to Triangles as I went through a number of laminated tips and all but one delaminated and the Mori M I tried was...... well just crap really.
I did not however try Talisman. next time around maybe.
Very happy with the triangle though.
