My review of Talisman Water Buffalo hard and medium tips are complete.
You have to go back in the blog for the medium review. The Talisman Hard WB is todays post.

Only tried once

I have only used Talisman WB Hard once, but it is my favorite commercial tip so far. I really don't have problems with miscues. It gives a fairly unique feel for the cue ball. I wil try it again. There have been complaints in AZB about delamination, but it hasn't been a problem on the one time I've used it. It is installed on my Schick and I think anything would play great on it. So I'm not sure how critical my support can be.

I also really like my Moori III Quick. There have also been complaints about that tip in AZB. But no complaints from me regarding the one time I've tried it.

Another less expensive alternative is Instroke Hard (layered). I like it a lot. The only hard layered tip that was too hard for me was Kamui. Great for breaking, but not much feel for me.

All of the hard tips are holding up well.

Since my initial posting, I have had another Talisman WB Hard installed on a different shaft. The new tip is still very good, but not as spectacular as the first. I also have had a Talisman Pro Hard installed on another shaft. Again, this is a single experience, but I really like the tip. Very similar to my old Moori III Quick and my Instroke Hard. Neither tip has delaminated yet. But, I have so many friends who had problems with Talisman delamination, that none of them seem interested in my experience.

I have been using a Talisman hard tip for 4 years. Each tip lasts about 9-12 months.
The 4 previous tips were the pig-skin version at 82 on the durrometer.
This last one is 83 on the durrometer but is the Water-Buffalo version.
This occurred due to a miscommunication between myself and tip installer.

After a couple of weeks of break in, the tip finally started to perform reasonably well.
It delivers a bit more energy than the pig-skin version, but does not hold chalk as well and miscues unless a very deliberate stroke is used at more than 3/4 tip off center, compared to the TH p-s.

While it is not worth getting rid of, when its time does come, I'm going back to the p-s version.

I tried a Talisman medium about a year ago. It had a very hard hit and even made a slight "tink" on draw shots. I personally did not like it. I had a few untimely miscues and promptly changed tips.

I use a Moori soft now.

I, like everybody else used a Lepro back in the 80's. They were considered a medium/hard tip back in those days. I think what we call a soft/medium today is the equivalent. It seems the tips have gotten harder over the years. JMHO

I've used Talisman Pro Hard and Pro Medium tips, in the past. Had issues with tips delaminating.
