I think European safety standards and product guidelines generally operate a 'cover all the bases' type methodology.
But then, Europe also uses safety standards to limit and fix the market - look at NCAP safety ratings on cars as an example. Which exclude certain brands they don't want in their market by fabricating ludicrous requirements.

Well, as much as everybody likes to think they are looking on the world with open eyes, or that the platform offered by their country is somehow more elevated than others, the truth is, all countries are limited. All people are fixed by their societal expectations, collective culture and education, and ultimately, in their way of seeing the world.
Very few possess the actual ability to acknowledge how these control and shape us, our interactions when considering the validity of knowledge or information, let alone consider trying to reach beyond the learned behaviors that make us perceive and interact with knowledge in the ways that we do.
