Hopefully you got the real deal.
It is a backup piece of chalk in my case but seems legit. It is one of 4 types of chalk TAOM makes, Pagulayan chalk
being the 4th chalk. Apparently most readers, like originally I was, are unaware TAOM even made a snooker chalk.
Like I previously explained, I stumbled across it and was surprised since I am usually familiar with what’s available.

The chalk on the left in your 3rd photo showing the bottom of the chalk is definitely fake, the one on the right likely is as well. I got suckered into buying some fake V10 and got my next pieces direct from Taom in Finland. There's a LOT of counterfeit Taom out there, I've seen fakes from eBay, Amazon, and yes, even Walmart.
I use the V 10 on my home table - it is very very clean and very functional as well. I pay $22 at billiard supply stores and in pool rooms - I have not been burnt yet.

I doubt that Walmart got conned but it’s rather irrelevant since I have more
TAOM than I’ll ever need. I am still using my original V10 chalk purchase &
its lasted 18 mths. so far and still has lots of life left. I also scored a piece
of V12 chalk that isn’t generally available yet from what I’ve seen. It might
be fugazi but my source is a Master PBIA Instructor that my closest pal.
He generally gets sent stuff from OEMs to test and V12 applies just like V10.

Thanks for your opinion which may or may not be correct. I happen to believe you are whistling down a country road but I could be wrong. The V10 chalk I got was acquired from reputable sources but you make it seem like counterfeit V10 is proliferating everywhere. I know that the chalk I have is identical in appearance to all the other TAOM V10 chalks I’ve seen in person, it does not flake or create “any” chalk dust or debris, does not leave any marks on the cue ball after hours of play, seems to last a absurdly long time, does not require frequent chalking but I do it anyway, and is totally indistinguishable from any other TAOM V10 chalk I’ve viewed in person. So you might be right but I’d wager you’re not. I know the Pagulayan chalk is authentic since I actually got to speak with him and TAOM does make that chalk which is my favorite chalk because of its cube shape. Oval chalk really is a awful shape for chalk but V10 is so superior that it could be triangle shaped.
Well, since there is nothing you have cited as reliable indicators these chalks are fugazi and appearance wise are a dead ringer for all the other V10 chalks I see, and regardless of the chalk’s authenticity, it performs identically to V10 in ever aspect, then I can only conclude it doesn’t really matter……..and why should it if the performance is identical?
So I’d bet a sawbuck or two on that wager earlier mentioned and I’m surprised you didn’t find fault with the Pagulayan chalk as not being really TAOM and is another counterfeit chalk. Until you have some form of proof, it is like crying there’s widespread voter fraud in the last few Federal elections. It’s so easy to make assertions, claims and accusations but there still has never been any genuine proof despite the Herculean efforts to prove this really happened. So let me conclude by writing you might be right, although I’d wager otherwise, but if any imitation chalk performs exactly as V10, does it really matter one tiny bit to any serious minded pool player? If it looks like V10, performs like V10, then the chalk equivalently is V10, IMO.

As long as it fills the bill, performs to my expectations, I don’t care who makes the chalk or cue or what it costs. I buy what I like, not a name. So if this chalk was fake, who cares because it performs exactly like V10.

The chalk you posted that you got at (or through) Walmart looked to be a darker green. Maybe it’s just the lighting or the photos.
It absolutely is a different color. In one of my posts, I listed an explanation from TAOM about the differences in chalks
that includes the snooker chalk in my photo attachments. There are also photos of the color contrast with V10 in the eBay International Auction Listings pics I included. The chalk is legitimate, maybe not the piece I have but TAOM does make this chalk. It makes sense it would be popular overseas more than the USA where snooker is basically like 3 cushion. Hardly anyone plays these games any longer and even though I want to, finding a pool room with either table is really a challenge.
