TAP vegas question

Please don't start telling me all the bad things about leagues. I would like some input anyone who can answer my questions.

First, when you go to Vegas in the APA you are stuck at that level for ever. You can never go down. Is this the same with TAP? If someone is a good five and has a good couple of weeks before going to Vegas and goes up to a six will he always be a six, or can he go back to a five at a later date?

Any comments on the Vegas tournament in November? I was told the team events usually ends around 6 pm everyday. After six there are mini tournaments. What has your experience been. I would like to buy tickets for some evening shows.
Again, please no bashing leagues. If you had a negative experience while at the Vegas tournament I would like to hear about.

Nobody here has played in the TAP nationals????

dont think thats why nobody is responding. its probably your first and next to last sentenses in your first post. the ones about no league bashing.

no league players want to talk about leagues unless they get to say mine is better than yours. and dont even think to ask a real pool player a question about leagues.

just my experience what short time i been on here .:D

Im confused. No bashing(I understand that), you want to hear negative experiences(I understand that as well). That leaves very little for someone to comment on, its hard to discuss negative things with out bashing. Perhaps thats why you dont have any replies.

I'm only trying to help out here, you might want to re write your OP and clear that up, then I'm sure you will get some responses.

take care, best of luck,

Ha ha!

A request for no negative comments or banter?

No surprise! LOL

I hope you're doing well sir!

I've HEARD people say once you go up in Vegas, you stay there and are doomed forever. I can try to contact the local TAP operator in our area (Mr. Doyle) and see if I can find the definitive answer for you.

-Sandman (no real names online please) Thank you

I can offer some insight.

First off, at APA Nationals you are not prevented form going down. A couple of years ago one of my 3's dropped to a 2. From my understanding, it does happen on occassion, just not as often as people going up.

It is my understanding (not 100% sure but it is what i have heard from othersi in my area) that in TAP, you are locked at that handicap for the entire tournament. In addition, while your handicap never moves, if you shoot 2 matches 2 skill levels above your skill level, then you get DQ'd. Whether that is better or worse, that is in the opinion of the individual.

Hope that helps.

TAP Nationals

I have been to TAP Nationals 3 times, and again this year.
TAP handicaps stay the same much more than in the APA, allowing your team to stick together (5 years for my team). A few stellar weeks play will not change your ranking unless you are new to the league and have played few matches.
Free beer at the opening night, nuff said.
Team matches run from morning 'til about 6-7pm, followed by singles tourneys and mini-tourneys. Almost all the tables will be spoken for during the first few days, so keep an eye open for a practice table.
Deadline to enter singles is in 2 days (Oct 9); go online to enter.
If you stay at Bally's request a room facing "Paris" (last year the view was of the Eiffel Tower and bathing beauties...80 degrees in Nov.), check out the cheap steak breakfast across the street and have a good time.
If you have a little gamble in you, look me up. We have players ranked 3-7
who will give you some action, any time any game any where.
