Tapered Ferrule

Now in reading the official BCA rules it states that the ferrule must follow the same line as the rest of the shaft.

So my thought process is this.. If the ferrule of a cue could be tapered during tournament play is this following the line of the shaft?

Secondly would the playability of the cue be compromised..

In doing a shaft this way, you could potentially acchieve a smaller tip radius will keeping the neck of the shaft a larger diameter creating less flex, and better performance..
Any thoughts

I've known a couple of very strong players that like their tapered, and shortened ferrules. This combined with a very long, conical taper.

Their setups can really dig in to the cueball. Had I the time and money, it would definately be something I would consider.

i have a mali that seems like the tip is wider that the shaft.the ferrule seems to widen at the top.is this what ur talking about?

i know somone that has the reverse.

the ferrule is bell shapped & is larger at the very tip than it is where the bottom of the ferrule meets wood.
