So I was watching you play at Amsterdam today, and I notice you tap your ring finger while you're shooting.. hehe any particular reason why?

My bet (and I've been watching her play a while) is that because Jenn has minimal movement in her shot-routine, she taps her ring-finger for rhythm. Any athlete will tell you that timing is critical when executing. It's likely just that.

Jenn? Am I close to right?

I kind of do the same thing too. I do it while I'm settling into my shot/stance. Sort of like the way a cat does when its fluffing out it's pillow with its claws before settling in.

what's a "ring finger"? :D

Are you people retarded? Do you think she conciously forces herself to do that? It's obvious it's just a tiny little habit that has no meaning. Alot of players do it. She doesn't know why she does it. What in the hell is wrong with you people, are your lives that dull?

LOL, this is actually the first post that I agree with you on.....

I do the same thing at times, it's subconscious.

I've noticed that too..& i wondered about it...but in turn then realize that my pinky & middle finger does it a lot. I think its one of those involuntary movements like blinking..ever notice when you sit down, if your feet aren't touching the floor, sometimes you will notice your feet &/or legs start to twitch & move just al little bit? Just like that, fingers have a lot of nerves in them....but there are the rare occasions that I do notice it when I'm shooting, & do think about it, so it's not always unconscious thinking...

Bingo! All I know is that when it's not tapping, I'm usually playing BAAAAD.

Hi Jenn,

I'm not sure if you noticed when we played snooker I tap my middle finger on my left hand, it's something snooker players do regularly.

It's like a relaxation technique but I tend to do it even more when I'm playing very well.

Best wishes.

Alan.

Exactly. I don't even have a ring hand, never mind a ring finger. Usually I will just scratch my ring with any finger that's available or is closest at the time.

Of course not. The consequences don't bear thinking about. You only make the mistake of scratching your ring with a raggy edged nail once.
