I was supposed to get my deduction last year around christmas too...but she was a no show until after the New Year. Congratulations!!!!!! :) :) :) Just wait until like October of November....bending over the pool table will be so much fun.

Translation..."I was supposed to have a Christmas baby, too! She wasn't actually born until after the New Year. Wait until you're 7 or 8 months pregnant...it's hard to play pool with that big belly."

How'd I do, LS? Oh, and any words of wisdom from a new mom to a mom-to-be?

PERFECT! Though I can see how a few would get all confussed about it's meaning, LOL.

Words of wisdom: Hold that baby. Carry him around with you. You can NOT spoil a baby. You are developing a bond that will last forever. You are developing trust with him. You are showing him that you are there and that he can depend on you ALWAYS...no matter what. No matter how cranky you are from lack of sleep, how hungry you are because you didn't have time to grab a bite, or no matter how frustrated you are because despite being tired that baby can not get to sleep. And always remember....YOU are the ONLY thing he has in the WHOLE world. The only thing.

I was a Tax Deduction!!!!!! I was born dec 31, at 1104am :) and i was due on dec 25.

And i never was cheated outa presents either lol, i always ended up with double the gifts, and eventually triple and quadruple, because my dad and mom remarried so i was getting gifts from the grandparents too.

And yes my mom would refer to me as a tax deduction.

Congrats!!

Great news......but as a Christmas baby myself (12/29) I'd recommend celebrating during the summer. That way you can have a cool pool party and the kids will be on summer vacation. A birthday so close to Christmas gets overshadowed by the holiday, and everyone (kids) love to have their special day...

I also have to agree that you can't spoil a baby....you can however spoil a child. Kids need rules and structure in their lives, and the rules should be enforced. We all live by laws and learning that actions have consequences is an important lesson. Most of the rules are going to be be for the childs safety or benefit, like not playing with lighters or crossing the street without looking, or talking to strangers. When you enforce the rules the child will know you care by your actions, and this is the time to explain how the world works....Fire will burn you, that sort of thing.

Well enough sermonizing....having met you I think you'll be a great mom....

Congrats

The plan is to have another day for a party and gifts so he doesn't feel cheated. It will either be his conception day (I was only home one weekend in March so I'm 100% certain of it!) or the day in April that I first tested positive.
