Well, I'll recount what Mike Sigel told me a few years ago.. Pockets that tough basically ruin the game, because you can't cheat the pocket any for position play. And, cheating the pocket to a degree is an important part of position strategy. I would think this table falls in that category.

I agree with this fully, pool is not snooker or Russian Pyramid, you want a pocket big enough to play to one side or to power a ball in when playing tough shape. Tight pockets are OK if you only want to watch the 10 players like Appleton and Shaw play or for replying to people on YouTube that comment on every pool match with "these are buckets, they will never be able to play snooker".
