One wonders if there will be an American on the team as a sort of "diversity" pick? Seems unlikely one will "earn" a spot other than maybe Fedor.

Europe on the other hand could form a half dozen teams that would win the Mosconi and be competitive against Asia.
 
Since Matchroom's points list is counted over the last two years, Fedor is still going to be the top "rest of the world" player on their list. He would definitely be expected to play in this event.
